Dear Health Practitioner
As practitioners we are daily facing the challenges associated with our profession: the pressure of our clients, regulations, different local licensing requirements, government control on herbs and oils, practice, insurance coverage, reimbursement and so on. Whether you like it or not, these issues affect you and your practice.
It is my pleasure to introduce to you a new organization that will help you successfully meet these challenges.
“It is mandatory for every member to carry malpractice insurance. We all have to insure ourselves and our practice against a malpractice lawsuit. You have here the application. Simply go to registration, print out the two forms, fill them out, sign them, photocopy your certificates, and mail them to me.
We have reached the goal of having 1.000 members. Now is the time to attain our second goal.”
Our Second Goal
At present, company benefit plans only cover the cost of treatments by registered massage therapists. Our second goal is to extend company benefit plans to include as many modalities as possible. This means greater clientele for practitioners like us.
Our Third Goal
The Third goal is to relieve some of our pressure with government regulations. With a membership of one or two thousand practitioners we will have a voice. Some years ago, the federal government started to remove many herbs from the market. Due to the efforts of some active practitioners and health store owners, their petitions and their unity, today we have those herbs back. Essential oils are the next target. The herbs are back, but we, the practitioners, are not yet united.
The solution is simple. United we will succeed, but separate we may end up looking for another profession! Act today and together we can help each other and our profession.
The City of Toronto requires practitioners to be registered with approved association. The Preventative Health Services Group is already registered and approved by the City of Toronto, and is providing membership to practitioners who must be licensed by the City. If similar regulations apply in the city in which you practice, please let me know and we will apply for registration there in order to assist you.
If you have a suggestion, by all means, do not hesitate to call or send us a fax, at the following numbers:
